Hello!

My name is Matt Eland, and I live on the Colorado Western Slope. In May of this year, I graduated from Colorado State University with a Master's in Natural Resource Stewardship, specializing in ecological restoration and water resources. Before graduate school, I was an emergency department bedside nurse for about a decade. I also provided professional and community education/training in CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid.

In early 2026, I will launch my business, Western Slope Ecological Restoration Services, focusing on arid riverscapes and grasslands using LTPBR techniques. Part of my business model is to hold monthly meetups that provide technical education (i.e., CERP CEUs), professional networking, and community engagement. To that end, I just joined the SER Rocky Mountain Chapter Outreach committee! If anyone is interested in participating or hosting a meet-up, please feel free to reach out :)
